70mai A810 Review (India 2026): A Superb 4K Sensor, a Battery Rated to 60°C, and a 4G Feature India Cannot Use
The 70mai A810 is one of the most asked-about 4K dash cams in India, and we sell it, at Rs.18,599. A review from a seller is only worth reading if it covers the parts that do not sell the camera. So this one leads with three things most listings leave out. The A810 runs on a lithium battery rated to 60°C, not a supercapacitor. Its 4G features need a kit 70mai does not offer for India. And HDR and 60fps cannot run together.
None of that makes it a bad camera. It is a very good one. But it should be the right camera for your car, not just the most expensive one on the shelf.
How this review was done. We have not lab-tested the A810, and we will not pretend we have. Every specification here comes from 70mai's own A810 product page, including its spec table and FAQ, checked on 9 October 2026. Where we give an opinion, we say so.
The short verdict
Buy it if you drive a lot at night or on highways, want 4K number-plate detail, and your car spends most of its parked hours in a basement, a covered parking or shade.
Think twice if your car sits in open sun for long stretches every day, or you are buying mainly for live remote viewing from your phone. The first works against the battery, and the second is not available on this model in India.

The strong part: the sensor
For most buyers, the IMX678 is what they are really paying for. It is the sensor that makes a 4K dash cam worth having at night, when headlights, street lights and dark patches are all in one frame. 70mai lists three situations where it says the A810's hardware HDR helps most: driving into tunnels and underground garages on a sunny day, oncoming headlights shining on number plates at night, and shadows on the road in strong sunlight. Anyone who drives in Indian cities will recognise all three.
Our opinion: for Indian night driving, leave HDR on. That brings us to the first trade-off.
Catch 1: HDR or 60fps, not both
The A810 can record at 60fps, and it can record with HDR, but not at the same time. 70mai explains this in its FAQ: HDR at 30fps already uses about as much processing as 60fps, so the camera's chip cannot handle both together.
For evidence in India, the night-time and contrast situations HDR is built for come up far more often than anything that needs 60fps smoothness. Most owners should run 4K with HDR and leave 60fps off.
Catch 2: a lithium battery rated to 60°C
Several sellers, including in some of our own older recommendation lists, describe the A810 as a supercapacitor camera. 70mai's spec table says otherwise: a 500mAh Li-ion battery, with a working temperature of -10°C to 60°C.
70mai explains the choice in its FAQ, and it is a fair argument. A supercapacitor stores very little power, so when power is cut suddenly, as in a crash, the camera can shut down before it finishes saving the clip. A lithium battery keeps it running long enough to complete the emergency recording. The trade-off, in 70mai's own words, is that "lithium batteries do not discharge well under extremely high or low temperatures." 70mai says it chose the battery to protect footage in a crash, and that it "will explore the supercapacitor solution in future products." It has since done that. The newer A810S is listed by 70mai with a supercapacitor.
Why 60°C matters here: in an Arizona State University study of cars parked in the sun for an hour, cabin air reached about 47°C and dashboards about 69°C. A dash cam sits on the glass, in direct sun, somewhere between those two. We have no measurement at the mount, so we will not claim the A810 goes past its rating. But on an open-air parking spot in an Indian summer, it is close enough to 60°C that how you park matters. We covered what heat does to car electronics in more detail in our dash cam heat article.
What we would do: use a windscreen sunshade when parked in sun, and think carefully before setting up 24-hour parking mode on a car that sits in open sun all afternoon. If that describes your daily parking, a supercapacitor camera is the better choice, even though we do not currently stock the A810S.
Catch 3: 4G remote viewing is not for India
70mai markets the A810 with 4G live view and remote alerts, and some listings repeat that. Read the small print on 70mai's page: "The 4G Hardwire Kit UP04/UP05 is required, sold separately and is available in selected countries." In its own bundle options, 70mai labels UP04 as "4G - for AU/KR" (Australia and South Korea), UP05 as "4G - for US", and UP03 as "No 4G - for All".
For an Indian buyer, that means the A810 is a Wi-Fi camera. You view and download footage on your phone when you are next to the car, not from home. The built-in GPS logs speed and location, but 70mai's own product graphic notes this data "can only be synchronized when you are in your car, you cannot view the location remotely."
If live remote viewing is the main reason you want a dash cam, the A810 is the wrong camera. We explain why it matters for theft cases in where the evidence lives when a car is stolen.
Parking mode needs the hardwire kit
All of the A810's parking features need constant power, which means a hardwire kit. For India that is the 70mai UP03 hardwire kit (Rs.2,500 with us), which cuts power when the car battery drops too low. With it, you get:
- AI motion detection: records when it spots movement near the car
- Time-lapse: compresses every 15 minutes of parking into 1 minute of video to save card space
- Collision detection: stays on standby and records when the G-sensor detects a knock
Without the kit, the camera records only while the engine is running.
What it really costs
The camera is Rs.18,599 with us. Other Indian listings we checked on 9 October 2026 were Rs.18,999 at dashcameras.in (out of stock) and Rs.20,999 at Nexdigitron. Marketplace prices change daily, so compare on the day you buy.
Add a 128GB or 256GB endurance microSD card, and the UP03 kit if you want parking mode, and the full setup costs a few thousand rupees more than the camera alone. Our SD card guide explains which cards survive dash cam use and how to spot fakes.
Check the box. 70mai sells the A810 as front-only and as a front-and-rear kit. Whoever you buy from, us included, confirm the rear camera is included if you are paying for dual-channel. And confirm the unit is genuine. Our counterfeit dash cam guide covers the serial checks.

A810S details are from 70mai's own listing. We have not handled one. If heat is your main worry and you can find the A810S genuine and in stock, it is worth the extra. If your car mostly parks under cover, the A810 has the same sensor for about Rs.5,000 less.

Frequently asked questions
Does the 70mai A810 have a supercapacitor?
No. 70mai's specification lists a 500mAh Li-ion battery and a working temperature of -10°C to 60°C. 70mai says it chose a battery so the camera can finish saving emergency footage when power is cut. The newer A810S uses a supercapacitor.
Does the 70mai A810 support 4G in India?
Not as sold today. 4G needs 70mai's UP04 or UP05 hardwire kit, which 70mai says is available only in selected countries and labels for Australia, South Korea and the US. In India, the A810 works over Wi-Fi when you are near the car.
Can the A810 record 4K HDR at 60fps?
No. 70mai says HDR and 60fps cannot be turned on together because the processor cannot handle both. For night driving in India, 4K with HDR is the more useful setting.
Do I need a hardwire kit for parking mode on the A810?
Yes. AI motion detection, time-lapse and parking collision detection all need constant power through a hardwire kit such as the 70mai UP03.
What memory card does the 70mai A810 support?
MicroSD cards from 32GB to 256GB, sold separately. Use a high-endurance card made for continuous recording.
